grassRoots history of early hi-tech community in Kitchener-Waterloo
For a time when people thought of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada they thought of RIM, maker of the BlackBerry.
Many people also thought that RIM started the hi-tech industry in the twin cities of Kitchener-Waterloo,
but it didn't. The local hi-tech industry started nearly 100 years ago (using electronics as the definition
of hi-tech in this case). Because I've lived in interesting times and since I am a born and raised KW boy it
was incumbent upon me to document the lesser known stories that explain why hi-tech has thrived and
probably will continue to thrive into a 2nd century. Far out.
